"We're really pleased with the work done by Matt and Mac. The enlarged bedroom looks great and we now have two beautiful reboarded and plastered ceilings and the ugly brick fireplace has gone. Matt has the full range of skills needed to complete a building job and his attention to detail is very impressive."

Improve your home
Home refurbishments are soaring in popularity — and for good reason. Rather than moving, many homeowners are choosing to unlock the full potential of their existing spaces. Whether it’s updating tired interiors, reconfiguring layouts, or modernising fixtures and fittings, a thoughtful refurbishment can breathe new life into your home.
A home refurbishment can be one of the most rewarding investments you make — not only enhancing your day-to-day living but also adding long-term value to your property.

Add 20% in value to your home
Looking to add value to your home? A 2025 study by Checkatrade found that garage and loft conversions can boost your property’s value by as much as 20%. Kitchen renovations can add around 10%, while updated bathrooms contribute up to 5%. Renovating your home isn’t just a smart investment — it’s one you get to enjoy every single day.

"We originally got Matt to quote for a fireplace removal but it snowballed into a full living room renovation with custom built shelving inside the chimney breast. Matt was efficient and willing to go the extra mile."

Frequently asked questions
Do I need planning permission for a refurbishment?
In most cases, internal refurbishments don’t require planning permission. However, structural changes, extensions, or work on listed buildings may need approval. We can help assess your project and guide you through the process if permission is needed.
Can I live in my home during the refurbishment?
That depends on the extent of the work. In most cases, yes. For full or disruptive renovations, temporary accommodation may be more practical — we’ll advise you on the best option.
How do I prepare my home for refurbishment work?
We recommend removing or protecting valuables, securing pets, and clearing work areas as much as possible. Dust protection and temporary adjustments (like alternative cooking or bathroom arrangements) may also be necessary.
My requirements don't fit neatly into a specific service, what should I do?
Give us a call! Most jobs are not simple pre-packaged products and require certain considerations or compromises. The best thing to do is arrange a quote!
Do I need to contact Building Control?
Nope! We have a relationship with a private building control regulator and deal with everything.
What’s the difference between a refurbishment and a renovation?
While the terms are often used interchangeably, refurbishment typically refers to improving existing finishes and fittings, while renovation may involve more structural changes. We offer both — from cosmetic updates to complete reconfigurations.
